Ministry Vision/Purpose:  Central Asia is home to some remote locales where missionaries serve. Education in English can be a challenge, especially for those with teenagers. Enter Central Asia Boarding (CAB)! Founded by on-field workers who wrestled with these same challenges, CAB works in partnership with Hope Academy to enable workers to stay longer in the places they've been called by providing residential solutions to their teenage children.

General Description:
Parenting of 7th-12th grade students (8th-12th grade) in a large, family-style boarding home. Preparing large meals, organizing fun activities, interacting with the school on behalf of parents, helping with homework, maintaining communication with biological parents, handling of small amounts of petty cash, discipleship & training for real life. Daily mentoring and investing in young people, discipline and training. 24 hour job! A live-in style of ministry where the boarding parents serve "in loco parentis."

Requirements:  
  • Parenting experience
  • Ability to cook
  • Willingness to live in community
  • Interpersonal skill for communicating with teenagers (and the school) required
  • Skills for maintaining multiple schedules and yet be flexible and spontaneous for the ups and downs of life with teenagers
  • A calling to serve youth and a heart for MK ministry as a key piece to the larger ministry picture

Field Background:  The Nune Field was founded in 2006 with a desire to see local home fellowships planted among Nune People. The main part of the team functions in the south of the country, while this opportunity is in the capital city in the North. A former Soviet country, the Nune field is considered Muslim and unreached.
