Ministry Vision / Purpose:  In Eastern Europe, local educational opportunities are often under-resourced or missed altogether. Everyone should have access to quality opportunities to learn! Our non-profit organization bridges the educational gap by combining local and international resources so that communities will be transformed as people gain the confidence to initiate change.

General Description:
 

Significant gaps exist in the local educational system. Schools are under-resourced, teachers lack adequate supplies, and students aren’t equipped to thrive in the classroom. Communities are experiencing “brain drain” as well-educated people move out of the country in search of better jobs and lifestyles. Our non-profit organization bridges the gap by providing educational resources and learning opportunities to help people achieve their goals. Teachers, students, and community members are empowered to try new things. Students with learning challenges receive the personalized help they need to fully engage in the classroom. When educational resources and learning opportunities are available to everyone, Eastern Europeans are better prepared to pursue their ideas and dreams.

With over 25 years of combined cross-cultural experience, our team in Eastern Europe is equipped and trained in sustainable and reproducible disciple-making principles. We’re not just a non-profit committed to meeting tangible needs, but we’re also a team of disciple-makers committed to sharing the Gospel message with every person in our region so they can experience a meaningful relationship with God through Jesus!

Field background:  

Eastern Europe has a deep, tumultuous religious history.  For many years, Communism minimized the importance of religious affiliation, but nationalistic differences always remained in tension just below the surface.  Since the regional war in the ‘90s, many people have returned to religious practice along political-nationalistic lines…Islam, Catholicism, and Orthodoxy. For most, this allegiance to religion is not reflective of a personal faith or relationship with God.  It is often more of a statement of political loyalty and an empty set of traditions and customs.  There is also a strong resistance to change and persecution against those who want or pursue change. 

There is a small number of evangelical, Christ-following fellowships in Eastern Europe, but the country as a whole is still largely unreached with the Gospel message.  With a population of over 3 million people, only between 300-500 are disciples of Christ. We are committed to sharing the gospel message of the Kingdom of God with every person in our region so they can fully experience a meaningful relationship with God through Jesus Christ!
